Almost every brand that tests anything tests the same thing. Certificates of analysis on the raw ingredients, filed away, done.
That is a real and necessary step. It also answers only half the question, and the half most people care about is the other one.
two different questions
Testing an ingredient before it goes in answers this: is this what the supplier said it was. Right protein, right purity, nothing contaminating it, nothing growing in it. That is a question about your supplier.
Testing the finished can answers something else entirely: is what we made safe and correct. Those are separate questions, because a great deal happens between the drum and the can.
what happens in between
Ingredients get blended. Water is added. The mix is heated, carbonated, filled, and seamed shut inside aluminium, and then it sits there for months.
Every one of those steps is a point where something can be introduced or shift. Process water. Shared equipment. A batch weight. Heat. And then the package itself, which the product lives inside for a year before anyone opens it.
Clean ingredients going in is the right starting point. Testing the finished can is how you confirm the middle went the way it was supposed to.
the arithmetic that convinced me
Here is the argument that settled it for me. A supplier certificate reports levels per gram of ingredient. What you drink is a can.
Twenty grams of collagen protein is a serious amount of collagen. A number that looks negligible per gram has to be multiplied by how much of that ingredient is in the serving, and then held against the fact that someone might drink one every day for a year. Only a finished product test asks the question in the units that actually matter, which is per serving, as consumed.
That argument applies to us more than to most, precisely because our dose is high. The more collagen you put in a can, the more the finished product test is the one that counts.
it costs more and we do it anyway
Two rounds of lab work instead of one, and the second round happens after the money is already spent on the production run. Which is exactly why it is the honest place to spend it. Finding out at that point costs us a run. Not finding out costs you.
what this looks like in practice
Every ingredient is checked for identity and purity before it goes into LÉS. After production, the finished canned beverage from every lot is independently tested for heavy metals. The results go on our testing page, tied to the lot.
Lot 001, White Peach, produced 31 July 2026. Results go up the day they arrive, whatever they say. Committing to publish before you know the answer is the only version of transparency that means anything.
